It’s no secret that I can’t sing nor dance but did you know I can't rap too.So I'm sure you asking yourself the same question I've been asking myself ."What can you really do,Viwe?” Is there anything?...Nah hold it right there, I do have some talents just not the usual one’s and no It’s not cooking either ,I’m a hazard in the kitchen.

See the fact that I can’t RAP is a new discovery.No ,don’t judge I really didn't know ,Well I just assumed I can because it sounded so easy.This dawned on me the other day when I put some headphones on and without even realizing I was rapping and so some people stared ,at first I thought Argggg story of my life.Little did I know that I was rapping too loud and apparently not doing  a great job judging from the looks people gave me and I’m sure you all wondering about the song right ?It's none other than Dj Khaled -Hold you down.

So this whole madness with me rapping was started by my Friend ,Pinkie.So I‘m not to blame, well not completely she had a hand.Pinkie right,the coolest person I know next to me of course..She free styled the song and made it hers .Typical,Sighs...I’m surrounded by retards.

Parties : Sunday Vibes

Sunday ,we all spend Sundays differently it’s either we rest at home ,go to church and some go for some chilled Jazz vibe.

So if it’s  chilled Sunday vibe  you looking for then the place to be is at the  Imbizo Restaurant right here in Emonti.

And yours truly had chat with one of the local artists who will be performing “ SOULBI JAZZ.”

1.How did the group come together ?

I met Odwa Nokwali and Bali Zizi at Walter Sisulu University they had already been friends and In July they decided to form the  band,they  knew of my singing skills so they asked me to join too .We were originally a four man band but Sive Sotobe the  fourth guy broke away from the group in January 2014.

2.If you could tell me about some of your performances as Soulbi Jazz

Yanga Ziwele:Soulbi Jazz is a three man band ,We started out in July 2013 and have been performing around East London and our greatest highlights are In December 2013 we were one of the supporting acts in King William’s Town Carnival and this year we Performed at Grahams town Arts Festival.

3.What type of music do you listen to?

Yanga Ziwele :We listen to a lot of jazz and soul ,the likes of Simphiwe Dana ,The Soil and Oliver Mtukudzi who are our inspirations

4.Where can People catch your Performances?

Yanga Ziwele :People can catch us live around East London ,We always keep fans updated on our Facebook page Soulbi Jazz

5.What challenges has been your biggest challenge so far?

Yanga Ziwele: So far, Finances for organizing shows and buying our own equipment .It is very expensive to put together a show  we’re all students and it gets difficult at times .Our manager ,Anathi Tiyo always helps us out where we all fall short and also finding time to practice and work on some material ,which is difficult sometimes as we’re busy with school.

My motto is to keep it natural.WHY?Well here’s why I can’t be in the mirror for more than one hour 1.Transforming myself into someone that I won’t even recognize it's just not my style and 2.I’m not a girly girl so simple basic makeup does it for me but my siblings would say it’s because I’m too lazy #chuckles....People don’t get me wrong I may be all for natural but I’d never dare to go without any mascara and some eyeliner, for me those are the two things a girl must always have.That’s why I suddenly became a fan of Nicki Minaj she’s never looked so beautiful,less is really more and No I’m not saying she has mascara and eyeliner on her makeup bag I’m saying the natural look she’s rocking it.

You know we should all be fine with not being drop dead gorgeous It’s okay we should accept it.Besides you may not be basic Candy but you some Eye Candy…It's okay you don’t have to be modest all the time and Of course I know some will say there’s a thin line between being overly confident and arrogant to them " Tough luck" Me,I’m all for blowing my own horn ,Come on now if I don’t blow it who will ??.

They have Go Karts ,Paint balls and many more.Yes, I'm a tomboy when I like why?because I can but on the real though I think growing up with boys has influenced that tomboyish thing i have on.I like the place because it gives you that outdoor experience and on upside you can act foolish, shoot things and still enjoy it,Laughter is the best Medicine after all."check out drifters it's really an Awesome place"

Beyonce’s -Flawless

She was born Beyonce Giselle Knowles whatever name we call her these days  I am a huge fan of Beyonce ,Queen B,Mrs Carter or Yonce. She isn't just a pretty face I mean  she’s a Singer , Fashion designer and Actress.A triple threat I'd say.

So on the singing part of things she released her fifth studio album last year titled - Beyonce  we all loved it lets be Honest and on the album I had a few favorites  1.Drunk in love  2. Xo 3.Pretty Hurts 4.Grown woman but now Flawless, Flawless is a controversial song people are interpreting the song differently w and it has angered a few so I've read.

Flawless, the oxford dictionary  defines flawless as Perfect,without any imperfections or blemish or Defect.We are Human beings and we are not without  flaws,its impossible for us to be Perfect But one can be truly talented and suited for something that its almost Perfect,Like Beyonce she’s a Born Performer she has great Vocal skills ,killer dance moves and a few that you all know but I haven’t noticed  yet. Now going back to the song why I love it, there's this part I like and completely agree with -which is actually a sample from the  speech “We should all be feminists”by Nigerian Author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie which goes like this

Well this is a little different from what I usually do .For me this Saturday 18 October  all roads lead to Walter Sisulu University Main Campus at Potsdam,I will be there for the entertainment of course but mainly  to support  my good friend ,Q. She’s entering the competition #MissWSU2014  and I’ll be there holding thumbs that she gets crowned as Miss WSU2014.You know, It’s really true you can never judge a book by It’s cover, She has a sweet smile and a good heart but damn that girl is Loco!!! ...Yess people don’t be so shocked I know Spanish, knowing one word does count right ??anyways she’s insane and beautiful too which is why I encouraged her to enter and as much as I’d like it to be it’s not all about my friend it is a Competition and I urge you all to go there you might have a favorite other than the one I have , She or He could win and you wouldn't want to miss out on that.

Good Hair

Yaaay so glad I’m back to blogging,I know I went MIA for about two weeks!!!

So my sisters this one is for you , we have different types of hair right and its up to you how you wear your hair whether natural ,short or long its all up to you I believe .I take pride in my hair it’s what makes me  Me,Its long , dark and at times very difficult to manage that's when I put on a weave and I try to keep my weaves as natural as possible.

But ohhh I can’t say the same for my best friend ,oh my God she’s fixated with weaves and maybe I shouldn't judge her as she has well um-mm short and not so strong hair.The things she comes up with to grow her Hair….crazy concoctions, I tell you and they always  damage her  Hair ,which is why I always say to her My Friend why can’t you just keep your hair short and Natural and she always says she won’t be pretty which is untrue .She’s so beautiful!!   

So with  her crazy concoctions  and something I heard  from my Lecturer how we black people were  determined our  blackness with hair  I had to blog about” GOOD NATURAL HAIR”...Yes people our blackness was determined with  testing of texture and the density of your hair... wait for it,The Pencil Test .It was not enough that we were dark and had dark skin or anything  else ,they had to do the Pencil test ,now from what I heard the test went like this -they sticked the pencil into your hair and if it sticks and doesn't fall  then You’re Black if it falls then you colored or whatever ...So I’m sitting there wondering would I be classified Black or Not Black ?? as my hair is different (When I don’t  put on some relaxer  It’s curly and soft in a way )..that Pearl Thusi kind of hair but not quite.

So comment and tell me about your own hair what's the situation up there people???

Which brings me to this. I’m so proud of my classmates most of them wear their naturally ,talk about being brave .So this is to All my Natural beauties I Salute  you!!!

It’s the hippest club in East London, It never disappoints, there is a dance floor and everything , even though I can’t dance and don’t even dare to attempt  to drop it like it's hot on that Dance  floor but secretly  I always  wish and pray sometimes  that I could try and pull a Beyonce or  J-Lo move and  nail it, I get discouraged because My friends say I shouldn't even bother God about that, they say I’m so stiff I should have been white .Apparently I don’t have the right rhythm but I always remind myself  You can’t do it all you know …and that  It was Coco Chanel Who said - A girl should be Two things Classy and fabulous and I am fabulous!!
